Rocky Mountain K9 Training operates from a private, high-altitude mountain acreage situated at 8,200 feet in the majestic pines of Conifer, Colorado. This specialized facility allows us to train dogs in real-world environments similar to what they'll experience with your family.

My name is Taylor Kenyon, and I founded Rocky Mountain K9 Training to bridge the gap between structured obedience and real-world freedom. Living and working in mountain communities means our dogs are part of active outdoor lifestyles. Standard facility training where dogs sleep in sterile concrete cells simply doesn't prepare them for local trail environments.

At Rocky Mountain K9 Training, every boarding dog lives directly inside our comfortable home, practicing good manners around the doorway, kitchen counter, and crate 24/7. We then generalize their recall, heel, and attention triggers on high-distraction trail runs in All of Colorado. The result is a companion you can confidently enjoy anywhere.

During our Board & Train programs, your dog lives in-home directly with us, receiving 24/7 consistency, correction, and structured home boundary coaching. They receive multiple structured training drills daily and undergo environmental outings in local mountain communities, trails, and public zones. You receive photo check-ins throughout, and a detailed hand-back session at pickup.
Yes, we use a balanced, reward-forward, and relation-driven framework. We first motivate and teach utilizing food, marker cues, and play. Once the dog fully understands the desired behavior, we introduce highly calculated, gentle physical/leash boundaries or remote collar triggers to ensure bulletproof reliability around extreme trail distractions like deer, cyclists, and loud objects.
For the health and safety of all canine residents, we require all boarders to be fully vaccinated against Rabies, DHPP (Distemper, Hepatitis, Parvovirus, Parainfluenza), and Bordetella. Signed waiver documents and proof of vaccination must be submitted prior to the residency start date.
