The Air Force Academy said good-bye to Ginger July 7, 2005 after she suffered heart failure.  Ginger was 10 yeas old and known to all at the Air Force Academy.  A memorial service was held in Ginger's honor later that month.  Ginger's passing left a hole in the heart of all who knew her.  One of her previous handlers said it best, "everybody loved Ginger!"

The K-9 Section said goodbye and good luck to Tom in September of 2004.  Tom just didn't cut it as a Police Dog.  After 2 years of intensive training Tom showed no sign of being able to be dependant on the road.  Tom was accepted back to Lackland Air Force Base, TX where he will be utilized as a training dog for new K-9 Handlers.

The K-9 Section said goodbye and good luck to Balu in 2007.  Balu was not a strong patrol dog, and only worked at the bare minimum in detection.  Balu was traded for a stronger dog, both physical and more challenging.  Balu will continue his career at another Air Force base.  Although not a strong K-9, Balu was both fun and loving, he will be missed.
